Experiencing Loss
Throughout your life you may experience many losses. You may lose people you love through death; experience loss of relationships; lose connections to co-workers when you retire, having to say goodbye to pets, and the list goes on. When going through loss, it is normal to experience grief. Grief is something that is personal to the person experiencing it and there is no right or wrong way to grieve a loss.
One specific type of loss is loss that is connected to pregnancy. Perinatal loss can be broken down into three areas. Loss experienced in any one of these areas can come with many feelings such as anger, guilt, sadness, confusion, or mixed emotions. Experiencing any of these losses can be traumatic and can take a toll on the person expecting and their partner. Everyone’s journey through grief and loss is different and it is important to find the right care and support to help you heal.
